Burberry Prorsum Autumn/Winter 14 collection is by far, my favourite from the British luxury fashion house. Featuring cozy and stylish oversized caban, dreamy warm blankets and screen printed city maps on cotton-scarves, It’s impossible not to feel the romantic inspiration of this collection.
Saying that It’s hard for me to find an item that I don’t like, would be an understatement. Each single garment in this collection has something absolutely delightful and special: whether it’s the size, the pattern or the fact that Cabans and handbags are now hand-painted (which makes each one of them, very much special and unique), is what caught my attention.
But let’s start with my selection for this AW14 range:
1) Oversized Shearling coat £3295
3) Oversized chunky cable-knit cardigan £1495
4) London print-cotton shirt £350
5) Floral print silk square £250
6) Leaf design blanket £995
7) Printed cotton leaf printed shirt £350
London, once again, seems to one of the elements of inspiration for CEO and head of design Christopher Bailey, as you can see from the many sketches on T-shirts, and shirts and the bags (skyline silhouette).
Also, seen on my favourite London map silk scarf square folded and positioned on the shoulders for that poet-kind-of look. A true celebration and pride of being a British brand.
Among the accessories, It’s worth mentioning the leather Brogues featuring a thick plastic sole (seen on each single model during the catwalk), available in Chocolate brown, burgundy red and black. The vast selection of scarves with the Burberry (iconic check-house, the leaf print and the geometric shapes), and the oversized ST Ives handbag.
You can find these in grain leather, in canvas or in blanket material. The hand-painted Small ives in Suede or leather, are by far my favourite, and that’s because they are unique.
1) Leaf design scarf £450
2) The Small St Ives Grain leather bag £1495
4) Check wool silk scarf £265
5) Leaf design silk jacquard tie £150
If you are a fan like me of the oversized blankets, and scarves, you can start to costumize them with your initials (MAX 3 Letters) for that extra personal feel. That’s started from September and will carry on until the christmas Holiday period.
