First day of MFW has been such a success, with some of the most famous fashion brands presenting their Spring/Summer collection on Italian soil.
With the temperature already hitting 36C, the designers certainly didn’t help to cool it down… on contrary they managed to raise it up even more with their fabulous outfits and aces up their sleeves.
Burberry Prorsum presented its collection today at 4.30 pm (+1) in Corso Venezia, of course It had to be another success for Bailey, but to be honest, did you guys have any doubt about that? (I’ll reserve a whole post for that runway show review…so you just have to wait for it! I can’t wait to talk about it)
Corneliani was the first on the spotlight this morning with his show scheduled for 9.00 am! I truly enjoyed the collection, in my opinion very masculine and mature… I particularly fell for the dirty-white trench coat that you can see on the pictures below.
Neil Barrett, Jil Sanders, Ermenegildo Zegna and Costume National all had their striking points and perks with amazing attention on little details. Some of the accessories are/were just incredible. Don’t you think? (I.E Zegna’s crocodile-skin handbags and Barret’s Shoes… unreal!)
On the downside I didn’t particularly find Versace‘s and Dolce & Gabbana‘s collection as exciting as I expected them to be. Donatella, once again decided to stick to the brand and go over the top with a lot of roman-like inspired clothing and accessories. I was never a mega-fan of Versace and once again It didn’t manage to catch my attention…(well except those very hot muscly models barely dressed…they did get all of my attention! ha)
What do you think of the first day of MFW? What was your favourite designer of the day? and outfit/look/accessory?
