Are you a fanatic of the classic tailoring and evening wear? Gieves and Hawkes is a british brand that never fails to disappoint on that particular department, delivering high-quality suits, overcoats and accessories for the gentlemen of the 21st century with a retro-twist.
This Fall/Winter 2014 collection was surprisingly fresh, showcasing lots of velvet, leather and fur, all materials that can look very pompous and overly loud, Basmajan , though, did a great job at following the sophisticated and contemporary image of Brit-luxe without resulting vulgar; If you hoped for something less flashy, not to worry – the tailoring is, as always, simply perfection.
The cuts and the way that they complement the shape of a man’s body is incredible, using exclusively the best of the materials from around the world, Gieves and Hawkes is the living proof that retro is great, we need all the Savile Row brands to keep on their great work with the sartorial.
I particularly enjoyed the coats and the red (and blue) dinner blazer from the picture above. What was yours?
