Going to press day is a great way to discover your favourite runway collection up close; check out all the little details of the different garments and feel the fabric, all different things that it is very hard to do during fashion week.
The other day I attended a few press days and Daks Spring/Summer 2014 was the collection that managed to win my interest.
Quintessentially British, fashion brand Daks London displayed their latest collection at their flagship store in Old Bond Street.
Focusing on luxury menswear, the brand kept their focus on the brit-chic look: meaning, lots of blazers displaying the prince of wales check – in different colours -, gent’s macs and trench coats, printed shirts and tailored trousers, all of which were looking very smart and clearly made from high quality fabrics and materials.
The colour palette is very delicate, lots of blues, browns, greys and creams, all very neutral, and that’s the key element for the S/S runway collection.
We, of course, received a tour of the Spring/Summer collection which was showcased in Milano a few months ago during MFW, an introduction of the main timeless collection and the more casual – and lets say affordable – range of the brand, Oh, and how can I forget to mention the goodie bag to die for?!? Now, that’s the right way to show off a collection!
