Wooyoungmi Spring/Summer 2016

Lunar eclipse and silver-faced models who looked like they came from outer space were seen at the upcoming Wooyoungmi Spring/Summer 2016 runway show, presented on the penultimate day at Paris Fashion Week. The inspiration taken was of an interstellar journey, the space and the unknown, and Wooyoungmi’s co-designer Katie Chang made sure that each piece was somewhat soaked into such idea.

With clothes featuring safety leather straps, and made of long silky materials , it was very easy to spot this outer space theme inspiration throughout. Very wearable, the relaxed silk suits, and the muted coloured summer lightweight jackets. The colour palette seen throughout was revolving around the shades of beige, navy and black, with dark midnight blues and sand as the prevalent hues.

The runway show was very incredible with a giant ball as the centre piece (the moon), and the venue picked by the designer was the mirror room (opulence in this case is an understatement) inside the Hotel Intercontinental Paris, near Opera.
