Etro SS18 collection is a celebration of the textures, fabrics and embroideries of the 60’s, back to when it all began and when the founder still sourced the prime materials from India. The collection is very strong, with psychedelic elements, Indian iconic and spiritual images (including paisley, elephants and sacred cows) printed on shirts and t-shirts; and lots and lots of little details such as fringes and patches, are found on relaxed suits and tailoring pieces.
The palette is very warm, with colours ranging from mellow khakis, to deep rich browns, from earthy reds to a strong burgundy. Among our favourite pieces, what stood out entirely, were the flower embellished suit (as seen on the model below) and the leather accessories (that fringed rock inspired bag needs to be mine)
The presentation was truly remarkable, with PRs taking us to a little walk through of the collection that truly felt like being in India; from the decor to the little canapé samosas and the refreshing mint tea, and how could we forget the Indian man playing a sitar under a tree? This was truly an outstanding experience and an amazing collection full of investment and even daring pieces.
