Eccentricity, glitz and glamour were prerogatives of American beauty icon Marilyn Monroe, and this SS16 collection showcased in Paris was inspired by her. Belgian designer Dries Van Noten, who is known for his intricate work and refined research for outstanding patterns and prints, offered a new collection with sweaters featuring knitted lobsters, t-shirts with Marilyn’s face and Lips made of golden paillettes as a gorgeous detail on luxe man robes.
The whole collection kept the signature of the designer, his love for boxy silhouettes and flowing fabrics, whether it’s a coat or a pair of trousers.
The Show literally ended with a bang, with a shower of raining silver confetti and the voice of Marilyn in the background and the chance to be able to see the collection from up close (which we captured the amazing details and craftsmanship behind it all)… Could it have been any more fabulous?!
