Andrea Pompilio takes to Milan Fashion Week an incredible collection inspired by the city in its early developing days in the 50s, when optimism, dynamism and style were the main prerogatives.
As mentioned by Andrea “Milan in those years was something unique” and that’s where he started this Autumn/Winter 2015 collection: displaying a selection of luxe cashmere outerwear, premium turtle-neck cable knit jumpers and pleated trousers with distinctive long turn-ups, One thing is for certain, the Canali man is incredibly stylish and impeccably dressed.
The show (which I had the absolute pleasure to attend) took place on Monday the 19th of January, in Via Savona, and it started off with the distinctive and suggestive lights from the neon bulbs at the centre of the runway made of 7 circle-like platforms. It then came to life with models walking the collection, each moving from one segment to the other, and making the whole setting incredibly inspiring and yet – different.
The coats to remember from this FW15 range are the alpaca double breasted long coat and the yellow double breasted peacoat, while the line of lush accessories is endless and to-die for: from the leather oversized bags, to the silk and leather gloves, down to the high top shoes.
Overall, Masculinity, luxurious materials and outstanding silhouettes seem to be part and strong point for the Canali house.
