If I could pick one garment that oozes the “British look”, that’d be the classic trench coat. Created specifically for, and worn by French and Brit soldiers during the first world war, the trench soon took its place in the fashion world, and has since become an outerwear used on a daily basis by many men across the globe.
Not only is the Trench coat shower proof, hence perfect for the unpredictable weather we have in the UK, it is also incredibly swish and easy to style with a modern three piece suit, or worn more fashionably with a pair of smart trousers and a shirt.
That’s why I teamed up with Samuel Windsor (hence the title), a brand focusing on outstanding tailoring at great prices, to show you how I styled some incredibly Brit-pieces
In this editorial, I’m walking around the pretty town of Marlborough, and I’m modelling the Samuel Windsor trench coat in stone, and matched it with a pair of blue trousers with a long sleeve cotton twill shirt, to create contrast with the outerwear and make that stand out even more.
Now, the best part is probably the shoes: Samuel Windsor has an incredible catalogue online and a range to choose from, whether you are after some amazing formal shoes for a wedding, derby shoes for a night out or boots for the everyday, Samuel has it!
As a style boy at heart, I had my eyes on the classic monk shoes, in cognac. Made of leather and featuring a patent shine finish, and a single buckle. How could I seriously resist them?
WHAT I’M WEARING:
Keep your eyes peeled for the next post, as I’ll be styling the classic Camel coat.
