I’ve always felt I had a strong connection with the sea since I was a young boy, I remember my father taking me to the sea side during the summer months (July, actually – the month I was born) and that probably made the link even stronger. The smell of the sea, and being able to dip in an underwater new world is something that would excite almost everybody.
During my stay in Aegina, beaches were at our full disposal with wild spots literally 5 minutes from our Villa, that only meant that location scouting was an exciting thing to do! The place I found to shoot this editorial was incredible, with a long tiny rock runway that led to the sea, stones everywhere that added plenty of character, and most importantly, shallow waters with visible fish and sea urchins.
Obviously I wouldn’t dare to go to the beach wearing a suit, but you know guys, I love shooting editorials and being a bit (a bit??) dramatic too. So, please take it lightly, as I do strictly go to the beach wearing a t-shirt and swim shorts, I swear.
My little blue suit, How I like to call is, consists of a blazer, and a pair of tailored shorts. There have been many discussions on whether this is too fashionable, and only limited to guys who are Jazzy, or into fashion. But I have to slightly disagree, you can still look pretty awesome and smart wearing something like that during the summer months.
Matching the suit, a pair of my favourite Gladiator Sandals from Dune (now, they do quite look the part) in brown leather. They were the perfect sandals for the stones beaches found all over Aegina.
