The 70’s style seems to have made a huge come back among all the designers who presented their runway collections for AW16, adding crazy colourful and bold prints, or checks clashing together. Out with the minimal, and with a sense of nostalgia, I wanted to recreate this whole mood in this editorial.
Salvatore Ferragamo has always been one of my favourite Italian designers , creating incredible tailored pieces, and mixing them together with very high-end fashionable creations. I very much loved the new AW16 and SS17 for their bold move into taking the old and new and fusing them together with perfect harmony.
This time, I recreated one of their runway looks, selecting from their store the green checks silk shirt and matching it with a pair of grey houndstooth check, YES, clashing two similar prints. You might think it would never work, but in fact, Ferragamo showed us that it is possible and it does look cool.
Adding a touch of personal style through the accessories is fundamental, so I selected an all-leather backpack by Jekyll and Hide, which can hold ALL your essentials (yes, laptops, magazines and tablets as it has different compartments) and a pair of Kurt Geiger maroon boots.
